Distinction of students and educators of the SEMEP UNESCO Network at the “Students in Research – MEPA 2015 – 2016” Pancyprian competition.

The educational activities of the Network for the 2015-2016 school year ended with the distinction of 4 schools of the SEMEP UNESCO Network in the ‘Students in Research – MEPA 2015-2016” Pancyprian Competition.

More specifically, 1st commendation was awarded to Agios Ioannis Lyceum (Limassol) for their project on the topic “How human ignorance for the environment can cause mass poisonings” and the Ethnarch Makarios III Lyceum (Paphos) for their project on the topic “Study of Habitats in the Paphos region”.  Honorary distinction (mention) was also awarded to Paralimni Lyceum (Famagusta) for the project “Barley, the ‘unknown’ protagonist” and Agios Neophytos Lyceum (Paphos) for the project on the topic “The Agenensis Tulip is emitting an SOS signal”.

The award ceremonies were held by the Research Promotion Foundation, on Tuesday 7 June 2016, at the Strovolos Municipal Theatre and by the Biology Inspectorate, on Tuesday 28 June, at the Ministry of Education and Culture.
