The Press and Information Office, the Cyprus National Commission for UNESCO and the Department of Antiquities co-organized a photographic exhibition entitled: “World Heritage of Cyprus: history, myth and religion”. The exhibition was inaugurated on 25 January 2016 by the Government Spokesperson Mr Nicos Christodoulides, at Famagusta Gate and was open to the public until 30 January 2016. During the opening event, the Percussion Ensemble of the Cyprus Youth Symphony Orchestra performed selected works of contemporary artists.
The exhibition presents photographs of the three entries of Cyprus in the UNESCO World Heritage List, namely the Neolithic settlement of Choirokoitia, Palaepaphos and Nea Paphos and the Byzantine churches of the Troodos region. During the exhibition special guided tours and educational activities were organized, including the projection of audiovisual material produced by the Cyprus National Commission for UNESCO and the Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation.
From the 1st of April 2016 until the 31st of August 2016 the exhibition will be hosted at the Pafos Medieval Castle and will be open to the public between 08.30 - 17.00.
